A bit of history:
The Uffizi Palace was established as the administrative offices of the state and was begun by Giorgio Vasari in 1560 and completed by Buontalenti. The transformation of the Uffizi museum, however, occurred in 1581. The Uffizi Gallery with its four centuries of history is considered the oldest museum in the world, and was also the first museum open to the public since 1591 was visible to anyone who so requests to the Grand Duke.

Tips to avoid queues
The periods with less inflows to the Uffizi Gallery are the months of November, January and February. During high season there are often queues at the entrance of the Uffizi, we recommend to buy the entrance tickets in advance reservation.
